Welcome to Welwyn Beekeepers Association.

Welwyn Beekeepers Association has transitioned. It is now operating as Central and South Herts Beekeepers (Registered Charity No 1186777) and is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Beekeepers Association (HBKA – Registered Charity No 289398), an Area Association of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA), founded in 1874.

Our aims are to promote and further the craft of beekeeping and to provide education to the public on beekeeping and hive products, and the importance of Honey Bees in the environment.

Our membership has been steadily growing over the last few years, and we cover an area from Stevenage in the North to Potters Bar in the South.

We provide support, training and social events to our members and to current and prospective beekeepers in the area.

Our members are able to take advantage of a number of apiary sites in the area, and we have a wealth of beekeeping experience available.

Each year run and have access to a number of Courses and Training opportunities though our links with Hertfordshire BKA. Courses on offer are Bee Awareness Sessions,  Beginners, New Season, Swarm Collection, Basic Assessment and Microscopy courses as well as Healthy Bee Days. For more details please contact training@welwynbka.org.

Our new website is currently under construction and all contact details are also going to be updated. In the meantime, please see the Contact Us page if you would like information on specific aspects of Central and South Herts Beekeepers or email to welwynbees@gmail.com for general enquiries.
